I have a proliant dl380 server running Win2k SP3. It is being used as part of a CITRIX XP Farm and so I can not upgrade the SP to SP4(not supported by CITRIX). I am getting a blue screen error saying "Kmode excepetion error win32k.sys"

I have been told this is a memory conflict error between ntos kernel and win32k.sys. Apparently SP4 will cure this for me but i cant use SP4. Any ideas?

Re: win32k.sys

Hello Stephen,
From the hardware point of view just make sure that the system bios and firmware of array controller if any is uptodate. You can also apply the latest HP support pack for Windows. If the problem persists then you may need to contact Microsoft for further assistance.

Re: win32k.sys

Where does Citrix say they don't support SP4? Or did they tell you that on a support call? I ask because I'm using SP4 on an XPa FR3 installation and haven't had more than a couple of odd problems.

You should try Sunil's suggestions. If for no other reason that you have to have a good baseline to do other testing anyway. Hehe, I'm always wary of the latest HP support pack myself, but updating the BIOS and firmware of the various components shouldn't hurt.

Oh, have you tried searching Google with the exception information? Sometimes you can get lucky with that. It should be in the event logs.

Good luck!
