x32 bit Hp DL 380G5 -> x64 - SmartStartCD question
Hi,
We have a Hp DL380 G5 running MS exchange 2003 server.
The server was setup using Hp SmartStart CD x32 bit.
We need to format this server and install Windows 2008 (x64) - and use it for exchange 2010.
I noticed that the HP cd's come with x32 and x64 SmartStart CD's.
I did delete the logical drives (array); and create a new one using the x64 SmartStart CD.
1) What else do I need to do with the SmartStart x64 Cd - as I couldn't find any other options (apart from testing/troubleshooting).
2) Does the firmware have to be installed again ??
Thanks

Re: x32 bit Hp DL 380G5 -> x64 - SmartStartCD question
Hi,
Yes if firmware not updated in last few months, use Smart Update DVD and update firmware:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=5351&prodSeriesId=1121516&prodNameId=3288134&swEnvOID=4024&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-98ce7a50a19a4d4994aaad8d0e
And, start the assisted installed installation from the smart start 64 bit CD.
Regards,
Murali Mohan
