10/100 Embedded auto-negotiate only

i have a compaq dl300. it has an ebedded netelligent 10/100TX PCI network interface. the advanced properties will only let it run auto negotiate mode. i try to set it for 100MPS, FullDup and it will not keep after a restart. also, it says the connx is AUI\BNC when it is actually Cat5. driver version is dated 1/31/2001, ver 5.0.1.18 from compaq (netflx3.sys.)

our environment requires disabling auto-negotiate. any help is appreciated.

It sounds like a bad driver.

I would suggest first looking for a BIOS update on the HP Support page. It should have an update for the NIC, depending on your OS.
