Re: Access iLo locally
It works with a dedicated ILO NIC, but not with a shared NIC.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Access iLo locally
Thank you for the info. I have two question.
First if my system has 2 NIC's would that make a difference? I beleive the first is a shared and the second is none iLo.
Second, is there any software from HPE that allows this to work ?

Re: Access iLo locally
What server model we talk about?
For some server (entry level) the dedicated ILO NIC is optional, hence it has a shared NIC by default.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Access iLo locally
For this models the ILO port is always shared, no way to access it locally, AFAIK.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Access iLo locally
Hello,
I'm not pretty sure but HP OneView will give you ability to connect locally.
Kind Regards

Re: Access iLo locally
Oneview will provide a link to the ILO IP address ...
Since OneView is a virtual machine appliance and you will probably run it on another machine, it will of course work, but not locally on the same machine as the ILO with the shared NIC ...
AFAIR there is just no connection possible between the "host owned" part of the NIC and the ILO owned part of the same shared NIC.
Maybe it works, if the second NIC is using another subnet as the shared NIC and you access the ILO via the second NIC, worth to try.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Access iLo locally
As Torsten has stated, this isn't possible using the shared NIC port. Maybe if you give details on what information you are trying to retrieve from iLO, we can give you alternative methods to access the data from the local system OS
