BL P-Class interconnect switch

I am Trying to setup a Trunk between An Enterasys 8600 & a Blade Server .

What I don't see in the documentation is how to change the trunking protocol on the interconnect switch.

Paul:

Which interconnect do you have for your Blade Enclosure?

Re: BL P-Class interconnect switch

Thank you for the help so far. I have reviewed those documents & still have not found anything about selecting a trunking protocol on the interconnect switch.

Re: BL P-Class interconnect switch

I'm not sure what you mean by trunk.

Is it bundling of connections, or tagging multiple VLANs through one connection?

We do both to a Cisco uplink.

Re: BL P-Class interconnect switch

Did you check Features from Cisco Gigabit Ethernet Switch Module
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/blades/components/ciscoswitch/index.html
VLAN Features
Dynamic Trunking Protocol ........
VLAN Trunking Protocol ........

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00293053/c00293053.pdf

Reverse GbE2

Where probably you can do trunking only for switch ports

Re: BL P-Class interconnect switch

Ole , Kov

Thankyou for replying I am still trying to resolve this.

Yes I am trying to combine Multiple ports (Etherchannel).

Reading all the documentation , it has great examples for setting this up with Cisco Equipment .

On this network I have multiple Trunks(etherchannel) setup , The only equipment that i am Unable to trunk to is the Blade Server. I have followed all of the documentation , but when I connect it up I get moving mac address's . I would like to know what is the Default trunking protocol & how or if i can change it .
