Blade switch GBE2

After reinserting a blade switch (hot) the other blade switch reboots. This causes the blades to be without a network.

Re: Blade switch GBE2

After using blades for a couple of years I saw this behaviour for the first time yesterday.

I removed/inserted switch B and it booted up normally.

When I did the same with switch A, B rebooted immediately.

I have no idea why.

Re: Blade switch GBE2

If you are running firmware version 2.2 and see the problem, then you need to download firmware version 2.2 from the web and reflash it.

I know it sounds funny me telling you to reflash 2.2 on top of 2.2, but it will solve the problem.

Here is a link to 2.2 if you need it. Make sure and flash both BOOT and FIRMWARE.
Boot: http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/serveroptions/us/download/23055.html
Firmware: http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/serveroptions/us/download/23052.html

Re: Blade switch GBE2

I found the real problem. It seems HP flashed a wrong version of 2.2.0 to the switches in the factory. It's a debug version. So reflashing with the version on the download site of HP is the only way to resolve this.
