Hello,

when did you get this message? Due setup or later? Windows XP isn't supported on the DL360, but the raid-controller driver für W2K3 should work.

During the setup, when I finish the F6 of the raid controller loading.

The DL380 G5 doesn't support the XP OS ?

Hello,

correct. XP isn't supported on the DL360 G5. Take a look at the support-matrix:

What is the model of the raid controller?

Are you attempting to install Windows XP Professional x86 Edition or Windows XP Professional x64 Edition?

Re: Can I install the XP in the DL380 G5 Server?

There were some issues with the HP SAS Smart Array Controllers (including the SA-P400) when using Windows Server 2003 x86 edition. If I remember correctly, the solution was to install using a Service Pack 1 slipstreamed copy of the Windows Server 2003 x86 edition installation media or manually install a Microsoft Storport driver update. Since you don't yet have a function OS, option 2 is invalid.

The best thing I could recommend for Windows XP Professional x86 edition would be to try the latest driver copied to a floppy.

Wait a minute...the DL380 G5 has room for either a CD/DVD-ROM drive OR a floppy drive.

How are you booting from the installation CD AND inserting a floppy disk when instructed by the F6 prompt?

Please keep in mind that HP has not shaken all the bugs out of USB-attached floppy drives and optical drives as far as a Windows installation is concerned. Also, the iLO 2 virtual media is improving, but probably still won't do what you need.

Regardless, here are some things to try:

Use the latest Windows 2000 Scsiport driver:

Use a CD with Service Pack 2 slipstreamed into Windows XP Professional x86 edition. Maybe this will raise the Microsoft Scsiport driver version to a compatible level with the SA-P400 driver.

From what I can tell, Windows XP Professional x86 edition supports only Scsiport drivers--not Storport drivers.

Re: Can I install the XP in the DL380 G5 Server?

Since Windows XP Professional x86 edition doesn't support Storport drivers (like the SA-P400's), have you considered installing Windows XP Professional x64 edition?

If not, you may need to troubleshoot getting your app to run on Windows Server 2003.

Re: Can I install the XP in the DL380 G5 Server?

For clarification, Windows XP Professional x64 edition DOES support Storport.
