DL120 G5 Server / Wake-On-LAN (WOL) Issue Under LINUX OS

Hello there! I would discuss with fellow peers around here about a wake-on-LAN issue that I´m facing with my brand new ProLiant DL120 server.

This machine is running CentOS V.5.3 and "WOL" works almost fine except for the fact that it answers to the so called "magic packets" of "WOL" within a few minutes after shutdown, only. After that initial period of time, the ProLiant server seems to enter on a "deeper" mode of stand by and can´t wake from halt remotely anymore.

Commands being issued to enter/configure "WOL" are:

/usr/sbin/ethtool -s eth0 wol g

then,

/sbin/halt -hdp

Anybody out there would comment on why this might be happening? My intent is obviously to "wake up" this machine whenever I want.

Regards everybody,
Fernando.
