DL140 G3 will load detect Drivers in OS install from PXE
I have had some issues getting an OS to install on this machine. I am currently tryin gto get XP installed, and have been fighting with it for several days. I was not able to get the software to get through loading drivers via either nlite, or a regular install, using f6 to access a floppy.. Finially, I setup a server as a PXE server, and added the drivers to the image there..
Now, setup on the machine rolls through loading drivers quickly, but at the end, says there were no hard drives detected...
This has the SAS got-plug drives, and the Raid is on a SmartArray p400..
Any ideas what could be wrong with this?

Yes, there is something wrong, I don't want to sound rude but the wrong this is that you are trying to install a unsuported OS in that server.

In other words, XP will never work on that box, you'll pull you hairs out once you notice how easy is to install a supported OS. Give it a try and suffer no more with XP.
