DL320 G3 SATA RAID under RedHat Enterprise Linux 4

Hello -

could anybody explain if subject can be made to work? There is SATA RAID support for RH EL3, however it seems to be unclear for RH EL4: in particular, SATA RAID drivers clearly are missing from list of drivers.

We need to deploy system, and rather unwilling to stick to older version. Have we?

If some drivers are not there, they might not exist at that point and it depend from O/S.

Well, it surely depends on OS - like SuSE Enterprise product has SATA RAID driver for that server just fine. Could toy with their variant, but as sourceless game is way dependant on particular kernel version, it is not very promising :-)

And corporation served has historical relationship with RedHat (they should have chosen slackware back then, had they taste :-) I guess sourceless engeneering suffers much more, than it does protect, in fact.

Therefore, I am still open for THE ANSWER here. And, besides, looking for telecommuting job :-)
