DL360 G5 Serial Port Access

I am attempting to use the serial port (com1) on my DL360 G5 to serial into another networking device via a null modem cable.

Unfortunately, I am not able to connect. Sometimes I get an error that I cannot access com1, and sometimes I dont get that error message, but am not able to get any data to pass through the terminal session. I know my connection settings are right (19200 8,n,1), and I know the cable is good.

The DL360 is running Win2008, and it pretty standard in its config (I never tweaked the BIOS or anything).

Has anyone else seen this issue? Is there another service (such as ILO) competing for this port? If so, how do I disable it?

TIA!

Re: DL360 G5 Serial Port Access

I'm having the same problem and i can't come up with a resolution.
I need to get the US Robotics modem work throught COM1 since the Serial-Usb provided doesn't have any driver for Windows Server 2008 x64.

Thanks
