DL380 G5 P400 controller

I have a real simple question. I have a DL380 G5 with the P400 controller. I've been searching to see if this configuration supports the 300 gig SAS drives 492620-B21 or 507127-B21. I found one document saying the highest capacity for this controller is 146 gb, but I also know that was the highest capacity SAS drive when the server was made available. I need to increase the disk space, so the larger I can go, the better.

Thanks,
Joel

Re: DL380 G5 P400 controller

We use 320GB SATA (not SAS) drives on P400 in Windows Server 2008 (R2), so that definitely is supported.

492620-B21 (HP 300GB 3G SAS 10K SFF DP ENT HDD) is a supported option on P400 "quickspecs" page, so this is supported as well:

http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12400_na/12400_na.html

The maximum capacity SAS drive listed on that page is 1TB, however I believe 1.5TB and 2TB drives will work as well.

Thanks. I'm assuming the SAS and SATA can be mixed? Obviously, I would be creating different RAIDS with the different groups of disks.
