DL380 server low performance
I have 2 servers DL380:
1┬░ SERVER: DL380 3.2GHz, 4Giga RAM, double processor; first array (2 disks of 36G) in RAID 1+0, second array (4 disks of 72G) in RAID 5.
2┬░ SERVER: DL380 3.6GHz, 1Giga RAM, one processor; first array (2 disks of 36G) in RAID 1+0, second array (4 disks of 72G) in RAID 5.
Both are Oracle servers (version 9.2.0.4.0) with same databases, but the server 1 is much much slower than the server 2 altough it has 4 time the amout of RAM and double processor.
For istance: to access the database from a client on the server 1 I need 30 seconds, on the server 2 I need 8 seconds; and the same it happens for all kind of operations (estracting data, importing data etc). The only difference I can see in the first server is that the disk in the slot 5 has the led off, but it is ok, because I runned already the diagnostic and the output is ok. Could you any of u help m

Re: DL380 server low performance
Ther may be a problem with your RAM modules.
have you tried downgrading your server 1 to 1GB and tried. If the result is good. Is the server1 reports full 4GB RAM capacity in the software. Upgrade the firmware of DL380 to the latest, presently it is P51.
download the file 'cp005167.exe' for win2000 server from HP site and do the online update.

what is the OS used?
try this and revert back.

Re: DL380 server low performance
We seem to have the exact same problem here, with 6 identical servers. We went from 2 GB to 4 GB RAM and cpu load increases dramatically. We had to go back to 2 GB for now.
All servers are DL380 G3 running Win2003.
Did you resolve your problem? What did you do?
