Device failure - Chassis or SCSI drives?

I have a Proliant 1600 that , every two or three weeks freezes up. The last two drives (in bay 0, and 1) go amber. After one reboot they return to green.
The message in event viewer (NT 4.0 - this thing is old all the way around):

Drive Array Device Failure (Chassis - Proliant 4L6I, Slot6, Bus1, Bay0). There is a second message as well - same as above, but Bay1.

Is this a drive or chassis failure?
