Extracting MAC Addr from board

We are having to replace a motherboard on a Proliant (G2) computer. The software license on this server is tied to the MAC address. Before taking down the server, we would like to submit the new MAC address for a new license. Is there somewhere on the board itself to obtain this information?

If the server is still on, you can just go to a command prompt and type ipconfig /all. If you are running Windows

Re: Extracting MAC Addr from board

We are replacing the motherboard so it has not been installed, thus no operating system is in effect. Most NIC cards have a MAC address either stamped on the board or on a label, but we cannot find any on this board. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Hi Eric,

You could also ask this one over in the Macintosh Forum:

The experts there will have some suggestions for you.
