HP LH2 Netserver will not recognize Seagate HD
Ok, hello, I have a HP Netserver LH2, and I have four 4gb drives in there now and im trying to add two 18gb drives. The guy on the phone said the drives are compatible with the system. I cannot even get the server to recognize these Seagate Cheetahs (st318406lc) drives. Ive tried various jumper settings, and the system light for the drives stays on at first then goes out. Any suggestions????

Re: HP LH2 Netserver will not recognize Seagate HD
I'm not sure that the LH II will support SCSI drives larger than 9 GB, but in any event you want to make sure that the "force single-ended" jumper is set.
If your BIOS is not the latest version, you may want to download that, along with the corresponding ECU, from here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=15473&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=50440&prodTypeId=15351&swEnvOID=54
If your drives are connected to a RAID controller, rather than the on-board Ultra SCSI controller, you might need a firmware or BIOS upgrade for the controller.
Best Regards,
Dave
