HP Microserver Gen8 RAM?
Hi all,
i've bought a Microserver Gen8 used, and want to upgrade the RAM. Right now there is only 4GB RAM inside.
On the RAM stands; "4GB 1Rx8 PC3L - 12800E - 11 - 13 - D1" and "HMT451U7BFR8A - PB TO AB 1532"
So if I want to upgrade to 8 or 16 GB what should i search for? And can i use "normal" RAM or?
My product number of the server is : 819185-421 can't find anything about which version/name this is.
Thank you!

Re: HP Microserver Gen8 RAM?
The Microserver Gen8 supports up to 16GB of memory. This document shows what is supported, refer to the memory section on page 21 https://www.hpe.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04128132.pdf

Re: HP Microserver Gen8 RAM?
Thanks for the link to the PDF.
But once again: even though the doc is edited only a few months ago, the links got to hp.com, which do not work. Do you know where http://www.hp.com/go/ddr3memory-configurator has moved to?

Re: HP Microserver Gen8 RAM?
I replaced hp.com with hpe.com and eventually landed here https://memoryconfigurator.hpe.com/ddr4memoryconfig/home/legal
There is an option to select DDR3 or DDR4, but the Quickspec shows what you need
Unbuffered with ECC DIMMs (UDIMMs)
HPE 2GB(1x2GB) Single Rank x8 PC3-12800E (DDR3-1600) Unbuffered CAS-11 Memory Kit 669320-B21
HPE 4GB (1x4GB) Single Rank x4 PC3-12800E (DDR3-1600) Unbuffered CAS-11 Memory Kit 820077-B21
HPE 4GB (1x4GB) Dual Rank x8 PC3-12800E (DDR3-1600) Unbuffered CAS-11 Memory Kit 669322-B21
HPE 8GB (1x8GB) Dual Rank x8 PC3- 12800E (DDR3-1600) Unbuffered CAS-11 Memory Kit 669324-B21
To max out at 16GB, you need two 8GB UDIMMs
