HP Proliant 110 G4 - how to enable dual core

We purchased a new HP Proliant 110 G4. As per the specs, it is a Pentium D dual-core but when I set it up, I noticed that it is running a single processor. How do I enable the second core ? Is it a configuration or hardware setup ?

Re: HP Proliant 110 G4 - how to enable dual core

It has a

Dual-Core Intel Pentium D processor 925 (3.0 GHz, 800MHz, FSB)

I have DISABLED the "Single Logical Proc Mode" in the BIOS and it shows that 2 of 2 Logical processors have been enabled. But, after I boot into Windows 2000 Advanced Server, it only shows 1 core in my Task Manager.

Thanks

Re: HP Proliant 110 G4 - how to enable dual core

Review the current machine kernel installed at the Computer tree of Device manager.
It should be "ACPI Multiprocessor PC"
In case your server was installed as monoprocessor you should update this component to multiprocessor

Robert .. Thanks a lot for your reply. I checked in the Device Manager and the it shows up as "ACPI PC". Do I update the driver for it to detect my 2 cores ? If so, where would I get the respective driver ?

Thanks a lot for your help.

As far as I know the multiprocessor acpi support is standard, so the required files can be adquired from media cd o even windowsupdate, once you select it at device manager.
