HP Proliant Microserver

Hello. I have a very old (like 10 years) HP Proliant Microserver with Freenas (8.0.4) on it. Windows 10 doesn't want to work with it because of SMBv1. How (and is it possible at all) to update it to something which will work? And suggestions?

Re: HP Proliant Microserver

This has nothing to do with the hardware itself.

Consider to upgrade the freeNAS software or just enable SMBv1 in WIndows 10.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: HP Proliant Microserver

Well, sometimes a newer version of operating systems may not be compatible with old hardware (drivers, special versions, etc). So, if I will download the latest release of FreeNAS from their site and install it, it will work without any problems?

Re: HP Proliant Microserver

Mostly because it`s old technology. It`s always better to update to current versions, than trying to work with old. Enabling SMBv1 is the option for me.
