HP ilo5 connection question

During boot up, I can see the ipv4 address of ilo5. I tried to reach ilo5 web interface by "https://ip_" address, but I unable to connect.

Do I need to connect the ilo LAN to my router as well? Currently I just connect the LAN.

Thank you -

Re: HP ilo5 connection question

Hello tec_chand,

If the machine where you try to connect to iLO5 is in the same network as of iLO, then you dont really  need to provide a gateway (router) IP, however as a best practice iLO5 should have Gateway IP, assuming that you may want to remotely connect to it from some other trusted network.

Question : Is iLO5 IP and your Laptop/Computer IP are in the same network? If yes, are you able to ping to iLO?

If they are in different network then it's required to supply gateway IP as well to iLO5 and then have a check.

Re: HP ilo5 connection question

Hello Chand,

You can do some testing first.

1. Ping the iLO IP address. If it is accessible, you need to check the routing table or DNS or try other broswer/computer. If you cannot access it, you need to check the network configuration. For example: subnet, vlan, routing table.

2. Directly connect to the iLO port, set up the same network, and then reach the IP address. For example: 192.168.1.1.

If you can access the iLO page, it means that you need to check the network settings.

If you cannot access it, you can try to reset iLO: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-a00026113en_us
