HPE Microserver gen8 SEAGATE 2Tb green HDD incompatibility
Hi guys,
Just wonder if someone encounter and was able to resolve Seagate HDD incompatibility with HPE Microserver gen8. Server updated to the last BIOS / ILO. HDD mode is AHCI. Disk firmaware is not need updates according to Seagate firmware utility. Server have two installed WD greens that working as they should for two years already.
When I add Seagate Green disk, it is not working as expected. It either start to power on and off with "parking" loud sound, losing access eventually and hanging system. Or it work for a while, and then starting act as previsosly described. I have two such disks I planned to use, both does not work reliable.
Disks are complete fine, they work flawless on any onther system, including Gen9 HPE servers. Sadly I can't install RAID card, as PCI-e slot already occupied by network controller.
If this is a dead end, hope this post help someone else with such problem.

Re: HPE Microserver gen8 SEAGATE 2Tb green HDD incompatibility
Hi,
You can enable the onboard B120i raid controller card and then create raid.
