How to Install e208i-p RAID Card in Microserver Gen 10 Plus

The HP SmartArray e208I-p card is recommended for HW RAID in the Microserver Gen 10 Plus.

I can't find any information on how to install this card in this machine. I'm unclear how the SFF-8087 connector from the 4 SATA drives can connect into the SFF-8643 connector on the RAID card.

Any guidance welcomed.

Hi @Beckmeister ,

Thank you for the Post.

Here the Ports are Internal : 8 SAS/SATA lanes across 2 x4 internal Mini-SAS ports.

Refer : https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-a00026432en_us

If available kindly share the Part Number of the Cables.

Also if you have identical Server do check and compare the details of the Cables.

Thank you

Ram

Re: How to Install e208i-p RAID Card in Microserver Gen 10 Plus

Hi Ram,

Thanks for the information. That is the procedure I couldn't find.

I now realise that the connectors on this card do match the server after all. I had seen some incorrect information on a couple of retailer websites that had confused me.

I now have a real HW RAID problem which I will raise in a separate topic.

Thanks, BM.

@Beckmeister Are you saying that you didn't need to purchase any cables with the e208i-p?
