"java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer: connect"
I am running 3 DL380G3 servers and have set them up behind a Watchguard 1000 firebox. I have set up a vpn between my workstation and the firewall and am allow communication over port 80 and 443. I upgraded the ILO firmware to 1.5 and am running 1.4.2 Java VM on the client.
I have tried to connect with XP, 2000 and 2003.
Any ideas out there?
Will

SolutionPort 80 is for http communications and port 23 is the telnet port were remote and graphical remote console is used. Port 443 needs to be open for the SSL connection.
Hope this helps!

Re: ILO 'remote console' doesn't work behind firewall
Recap, ports used by ILO:
80
443
23
17899
Keep this in mind for those who have firewalls!

Re: ILO 'remote console' doesn't work behind firewall
there is a correction the last port is 17988 (not 17899)
so ports are
23 - telnet port for remote console
80 - standard webpage which redirect to ssl
443 - SSL secure page
17988 - virtual media
