Increasing array size

I want to increase the size of a four drive RAID-5 array. The array currently uses 36GB drives and I want to repalce those with 146GB drives. Can I just replace them one by one, allowing time for the rebuild in between, then use Acronis Disk Director Server to expand the partition size? Is this the recommended method?

Will there be a problem if the current drives have a spindle speed of 10K and the new drives are 15K?

Re: Increasing array size

Hello Alamo,
You can definitely do that. I dont think there would be any issues.
However, As always, its recommended to have a valid backup, in case of a HDD failure during the rebuild(read: dataloss).

Though its not recommended to have disk with different speeds, its has no effect on short time use; Since all the drives will eventually will be swapped out to the same size, there will be no issues.

Regards.
