Insight services causing error with USB tape drive
I have a Proliant ML310 G5 Server (Product ID: 496042-005) running SBS 2003. I have an HP DAT160 External USB tape drive connected to the server. I am using Backup Exec 12.5 for nightly backups. Since installing the tape drive, I have gotten the following error on every backup job:
Backup- System?State Storage device "HP 1" reported an error on a request to write data to media.
Error reported:
Incorrect function.
V-79-57344-34030 - An invalid command was sent to the storage device.
Working with Symantec support, we found that the error goes away when I disable the Insight services. I feel the Insight services are important to be running, so I need to figure out why they are causing problems with the tape drive. Can anyone tell me what I can do to prevent the Insight services from interferring with the tape drive?
Thanks,
Joe
