Installing Windows 2000 DTC on HP Proliant DL 380

We hold a HP Proliant DL 380 on which we are trying to install Win2000 Data center edition.
However the " Smart Start" CD we have to install OS on the machine doesnt show Win2000 DTC.

We are seeing couple of other OSs like Win2000 Advanced Server/Server , Win2003 Enterprise etc but not Win2000 DTC.

Let us know how to install the same on the Proliant DL 380

Hi,

w2k DataCentre is/was only intended for 8 and above CPU machines and is not delivered by MSFT but by the OEM, in this case HP (Compaq). The install cd's have a build in verification of the machine type and as far as i know does not want to install on other servers that do not match the ones supported by the DataCentre program.

Have a look here for the supported versions of Windows for all Proliant servers:

On this url you can see the DC version of Windows was only supported on the DL760 and 8500 Proliant systems:

SmartStart never supported the DC program.
Currently their is only support for DataCentre on Itanium systems, not on IA32 anymore.
