We want to install windows 2003 server.
As we compaq smart start release 5.10,which supports only windows 2000 server.

Hi,

there is no SmartStart version that supports an Assisted installation on a DL380 G1. The latest SmartStart versions do not work. But if you use either your existing SmartStart or download the 5.50 version, you could do a manual installation. Choose the manual path from SmartStart and select Windows 2000 as your OS. Then when you are asked "Insert OS CD and Reboot", put in you Windows 2003 CD and reboot the server. Windows 2003 already has drivers for your Smart Array controller and NICs, so that's the main hurdle for the installation cleared. Then when Windows is installed, you can install the latest Support Pack from the HP Website (you might need to install the SNMP service first, if you want the Proliant Agents to install correctly)

If you want to Download SmartStart 5.50:

Did this work for you? I am having issues loading an OS on my DL380 G1. It hangs at "starting Windows"
