I must have misread you. Yes, the drives must be connected directly to the RAID controller to utilize its function.

The user guide will be of value for the basic installation procedure.

The guide not explain the type of cable for this connection, if you have the part number please let me know. I have 4 SATA hard drive. Thank for your help
