Re: LH3 HP Netserver 6000
Hi Andrew,
First, which Netserver is this? the subject sayS LH3 HP Netserver 6000. Is it a Netserver LH3, Netserver LH6000 or Netserver LT6000. There is no such thing as an LH3 6000.
Next, you cannot clear the event log if you are unable to POST. Once you resolve your memory issue, you can clear the event log using the Hardware Event Log Display Utility diskette availiable for download here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50440&prodNameId=19774&swEnvOID=54&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ns-11635-1
or, if you are running a Microsoft Operating System, you can use Instant TopTools from within the O/S. You can download it here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50440&prodNameId=19774&swEnvOID=226&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ns-11142-1
The 1-3-3-1 beep code is a memory error. Either the RAM you have is bad or the slot is bad. Also, if this is an LH6000 or LT6000, the RAM needs to be installed in pairs. You will see 1A, 2A, 3A & 4A on one side and 1B, 2B, 3B & 4B on the other side. If you are only putting in a single stick of RAM, it won't work. You will also have problems if you are using non-HP RAM. Verify the part numbers.
Let us know how that goes,
