ML310 G5 SATA RAID

Hi,

We have had numerous HP ML310G4 servers in the past, all running RAID 1 using the on-board SATA controller. We use the HP Storage Manager software to monitor and manage the RAID status through windows.

We have just received our first ML310G5 model, and we are having no luck at getting Storage manager to work with this model. The software runs OK, but can't find any controllers within the system,. Has anybody had any success at managing/monitoring the embedded RAID on this new server ?

I think your problem lies where you installed windows without the RAID option in the RBCU turned on.now. This is where the problem lies. if you turn it on, windows most likely will not boot, you may have to reinstall it. hopes this helps.!

RAID 1 is running fine on the SATA controller, configured through the RAID bIOS Config Utility. The problem appears to be with the windows driver/ HP Storage Manager Utility.

OK... are you using the HP storage manager for the ML310 G5? apparently the G4 and G5 controllers are different.

Thanks for your replies, yes we have resolved the issue now, by installing the latest release of Storage Manager for the Ml310, which has a release date of 25th January 2008.

This release was not avaialble when we first found the issue..... so it appears we were in posession of a new hardware platform, before the drivers were actually made available for download.
