Re: ML370 G1 install of 2003 server

It seems that when loading 2K3 or even NT4 that the harddrives are not there. The Bios and SmartStart sees them but not the OS.

Re: ML370 G1 install of 2003 server

Make sure cables connected to Onboard PORT 2 if you use Integrated Smart array Controller
Or to 5300 if you are willing to try it
Run Erase Utility
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/17918.html

At POST look for F8 access and check if you can detect Drives. Create Array as desired.
If it works Install system Partition (SCU)
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/13227.html
Create diskettes and use them.
Ignore Smart Start CD for now.

Select O/S
Use F6 option and driver should be extracted to floppy
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/index.html

For 5300 select 5x 6x Driver
For ROC select Integrated Smart Array Controller
