ML370 G4 work with Hyper-V?

We have a Proliant ML370 G4 that I'm upgrading to dual 3.4 Xeons (2MB cache) and 8 gigs of RAM. I would like to run one VM on it for a week till we make our move to a new location at which point the entire network will be re-built. My plan was to get 2008 x64 Server on the G4 this weekend and have it host this one VM - this is just a time saver for next weekend. Anyone tried running Hyper-V on one of these?

Thanks!

In addition to the systems requirement for Windows Server 2008, the two key requirements for the Hyper-V platform are the need to ensure that the server is a 64-bit environment and supports hardware-assisted virtualization (Intel VT or AMD-V) technology.

Yes, I'm aware of the requirements for 08 Server and Hyper-V, but I'm wondering if anyone can confirm that they are running Hyper-V on one of these servers. I've already run into issues with supposedly compliant hardware not being able to run Hyper-V.

You should check your server CPU !

Download securable.exe and check your CPU and VT support

Check what isn't turned on/off in BIOS or check on intel site if your XEON is on list of Xeons series : 3xxx, 5xxx or 7xxx CPU with VT support.

HP G4 servers usualy doesn't have VT support becouse they aren,t even Intel 3xxx
VT models - 800MHz bus is standard on those servers so they have too old CPU's (without VT) to run HYPER-V. I made this mistake two months ago and searched many ways to upgrade but it only leaves us with software virtualization that doesn't need VT to run (MS Virtual Server 2005 SP2 is free now od VMware).
