Hello, I want to replace the motherboard of a MicroServer (x3216) with the more powerful x3421. Windows Server 2016 is installed on the system. A Raid1 is defined via the Marvell controller.
From my point of view I should simply be able to replace the motherboard if the BIOS settings are identical.
Am I right, or what do I have to consider?
Thanks for the support!
+++ Summary +++
The change of the motherboard was very easy & successful!!

SolutionHi ,
We see that you are looking to replace the system board with the x3421 APU support.
This system board supports only x3421 processors as can be seen below.
The system board assembly spare includes the system board attached to the tray, with the heatsink and the
rear USB EMI shield installed.
Description Spare part number
System board assembly with AMD Opteron X3216 APU - 874737-001
System board assembly with AMD Opteron X3421 APU - 874738-001
The above information was obtained from the user guide of this server, the link for which can be found below.

Replacing the system board will not affect the RAID.
