Hi All,
Proliant Gen8 MicroServer Windows 2012 R2 with Latest SPP (864794_001_spp-2016.04.0-SPP2016040.2016_0317.20)
(864794_001_spp-2016.04.0-SPP2016040.2016_0317.20)
I think one of my drives might be playing up, I'm not exactly sure which drive though.
Are the logs below indicating the first drive in the slot to the left of the bay or is it the last slot to the right in the bay?
There doesn't appear to be any way I can exercise the drives using the HP Diagnostics (or is there?) and check drive smart properties.
I had to also recently re-install the OS as the boot bcd become corrupt, I had no way of being able to access the C: drive filesystem from the Windows Repair disk, I could only access the C: filesystem from the Intelligent Provisioning (F10) I was able to navigate the filesystem whilst specifying the source option.
So I decided to re-install OS and re-apply SPP... So looks like a possible drive failure - but would like to confirm this is not a drive firmware issue or something that can prevent drive replacement.

SolutionOk I ran the Insight Diagnostics tool and ran a test against all drives, I can see there are 114 errors on one of the drives. I suspect this is my C: Drive.
I'll shutdown and remove each drive and verify which the drive by serial number and replace it.
Hard Drive 1, 2.0 TB, 7k RPM, SATA, ATA ST2000VX000-1CU1 Passed HardDrive Location: The hard drive at connector 1I, enclosure number 0, enclosure bay 1. The read/write hard error count recorded in the monitor and performance log. Count 114, totalBitsTransferred 1.49556e+014 Accumulated power-on time for this hard drive: 25.4 months Drive Identification: Serial Number: W1E3EQS1 This drive IS functioning within the proper operating specifications and should NOT be replaced. If you feel you are experiencing problems in your storage system, refer to the HP Insight Diagnostics User Guide or the HP ProLiant Servers Troubleshooting Guide located on hp.com.
Cheers
Jim
