Mixed SCSI Disk speeds in RAID 1 mirror?

Is is possible to use different speed SCSI disks in the same RAID 1 mirror?
For example if I have 2 18.2GB SCSI Hot-Plug drives, one is 10,000rpm and the other is 7200rpm. Will this work or not, and is it recommended?

Yes it is possible, I have tried myself with 2 SCSI disk with diferent speed, but they are 15 K and 10 K rpm, and they are still working perfectly. (They are 72 Gb)

Pd. I still see no degradation on the performance, but I have to tell you that this server doesn´t have much critical access or too much information process.

I hope this help you

Thanks for that. I have some spare 18.2GB 7200rpm hot-plug drives. My main servers have RAID1 & RAID5 arrays made up of 10K and 15K 18.2GB drives so I'll keep these as spare just in case....
