NC7782 Driver error: File not found (ml580 -> DL380G4)
The system cannot find the file specified
This is the error I get When I restored a windows 2000 server image from ML570G1 to a DL380G4 with symantec Livestate recovery. All went fine and normally I only need to reinstall the NIC drivers and OK, but this time it did not. Whatever I do, I connot install the drivers and therefore cannot connect to the network. First we thought it was a CPQteam problem but after searching the forum it seems to be a Broadcom problem. I tried uninstalling from Safe Mode, forcing to take a driver, nothing helps. It even seems it rather uses the OEM17.inf file instead. But still the dreaded question mark appears in device manager.
does anyone have an idea?

Re: NC7782 Driver error: File not found (ml580 -> DL380G4)
To check if it was NIC or server related I disabled the embedded NIC's in the BIOS and added a 3com 3C905C-TX NIC. But even this gives the same error and is displayed with a question mark in the device manager.
I wonder why it has a problem with all NIC drivers
