NIC Config behind IP Routing switch

Hi,

I've got an HP 2626 setup to do IP routing on a seperate VLAN. It's not working. My question is what are the TCP/IP NIC settings supposed to be?

I've got 172.16.1.x as my main office subnet. I've created a second subnet on the vlan of 172.16.2.x. I setup a server on that vlan with an IP of 172.16.2.10.

Specifically what would the default gateway be? The address of the switch? Or the first IP on the vlan?
