NIC redundancy for LT6000R?

Looking at the specs, I see that the LT6000R appears to support NIC redundancy. Does anyone have any experience of this feature with regards to effectiveness (does it cope with physical network failure, NIC failure, time to failover IP address to secondary adapter etc) and configuration?
