P 400 Array card

hi there just wondering is there a way to enable an alarm if a disk fails in an array

I cant find any where to do this in the BIOS

Unlike some other brands of array controllers, I don't think the SA-P400 supports audible alarms. Have you considered installing a monitoring/reporting console such as HP SIM (Systems Insight Manager)?

SIM can be configured to email you or possibly send an email to a paging/SMS gateway to notify you of events.
