PCI System Error Bus/Device/Function 0078h
Hi,
I have a client with an HP Netserver LC2000R.
They are running Netware 5.1 on this box.
Every so often the server crashes with a:
PCI System Error Bus/Device/Function 0078h
Any help with this matter would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Re: PCI System Error Bus/Device/Function 0078h
Hi Bob,
This is a known issue specifically on the LC2000r running Netware 5.1. My educated guess is that you are running Support Pack 3 or higher?
Some say that Command anti virus or McCaffee virus scanning software can be the cause. You can try removing them if they are installed. Some people have seen the error go away by doing this. Other people have had the error go away by replacing the NIC card drivers. Aside from that, for troubleshooting you can ensure that your highest priority PCI cards are running off BUS 0, Disable any installed toptools agents, remove instant top tools. These steps may help.
The only known workaround is to downgrade Netware to support back 2a.
Hope this helps.
