PCI card for 100mhz PCI slot (external SATA)
I use external SATA II 500gb hard drives for backups instead of tape drives.
I want to add an external eSATA controller to my DL380 G3. I currently have 2 of the 100mhz PCI slots free. The 133mhz is being used by the SA6402.
Will a standard PCI rev2.2 33/66mhz card work in one of the 100mhz PCI slots?
Thanks!

Re: PCI card for 100mhz PCI slot (external SATA)
Hi
I can't tell you but I want to add a ESATA PCI card in Slot1 too with RedHat OS.
I wonder how to manage not to boot from this Disk?

Re: PCI card for 100mhz PCI slot (external SATA)
The PCI slots are downwardly compatible. I've used them with slower PCI cards such as the Emulex LP9002L-E and various PCI NIC's.
