Power & Heat calculations

Hi,

I'm putting together a plan that details proposed heat and power for some new servers to give to our facilities department.

I have used the rack configurator to get details, but then I used the power calculator which gives completely different results. For example, a DL585 with 4 processors and 32Gb of RAM uses 1135 Watts and outputs 3678 BTUs according to the rack configurator. However the power calculator suggets that even at max useage, the server uses 804 Watts and outputs 2742 BTUs.

Which one should I trust for the most realistic results.

Many thanks.

Re: Power & Heat calculations

I'd go with the first one to be safe. You can also call support at 1-800-474-6836 and they should be able to help you figure it out.

Good Luck,
