Re: Problem HP DAT 72 internal USB not detected on Proliant ML150 G3 (WIN Server 2003 R2)
Hi,
At the begening I was thinking it could be a problem with Motherboard, but actually any other USB device works well on USB ports (including HP floppy drive, modems etc...), and we know now that some other proliant servers (ML 350, ML 370...) are experiencing exactly the same problem with a HP StorageWorks DAT 72 USB tape drive.
We now think that the Windows driver (WS 2003) from HP is not a good one (difficult to see because firstly it works, and then after a few backups, problems appear).
Could somebody tell the developper's team to improve this Windows driver ?
Thanks for your help.
Jerome

Re: Problem HP DAT 72 internal USB not detected on Proliant ML150 G3 (WIN Server 2003 R2)
Test the DAT 72 by connecting it to a different server, a desktop, or a laptop. A USB interface gives you options.
Use everything the same, tape drive, cable, cartridge, driver, and backup software. If the DAT 72 fails on the other server, desktop, or laptop, then it probably isn't the original server's system board.
If the DAT 72 works fine on the alternate server, desktop, or laptop, then reconsider replacing the system board.
You've changed everything else...
