Re: Problem with a netraid 1m

Hi Leonides,

the Netraid 1M is smart enough to allow drives to be changed fom position and still recognize which drive is part of which array and what stripe it holds. This is because the hard disks themselves have a copy of the array configuration (COD Config On Disk), so even installing a brand new controller with no configuration can recover
the array if you import the disk drive configuration.

It depends what you mean with "someone mixed the hard drive in the array" but if you mean that someone moved disks from position when the server was powered OFF, then their should be no problem at all and at power up the controller will detect the disks changed from position (and it will post a short message about this also) but it will continue and just operate normal.

Pls explaining more detail what happened if the above does not help you.

Re: Problem with a netraid 1m

Hi Leonides,

Unfortunately, drive roaming does not occur if the array is degraded. If you had a failed drive and someone moved the drives around, it will not reassign the members.

How many drives are installed and what is the current configuration on them?
