Problems with LH4 (NetRaid 3si) / RS12 / Win2k

After installing Win2k on the LH4-Server it is not possible to use hdds in the rs12.
There are 12 hdds in the server and 7 hdds in the rs12.
If we use the rs12, some hdds in the server are no longer visible.
Any solutions / comments are appreciated.

Hi,

What is your current config ?
You use the embedded Netraid for internal disks
and a 3SI card for RS12 ?
If this is the case, you should try to look in
the CTRL-M session if you got the two adapters
listed ?
If not, try to change the 3SI to another slot.

Thank you for the instant reply!
We're only using the 3si-controller, no internal controllers.
The same configuration was ok as long as we were unsing win nt ...
The 3si-controller is not using irq9, and I've got no idea what to do ...

Have you tried using a different channel to see if the discs are seen? Also, try hooking it up to a SCSI controller and see what happens.

Re: Problems with LH4 (NetRaid 3si) / RS12 / Win2k

hi
seems you have conected the external cable to the wrong channel, if you have 12 internal hdd, then you have two HSCages connected to channel Zero and one, the chanel two is the one you need to use for the external storage.
the channel two is the right higher one near the Chanel zero, the chanel one is under the channel zero on the left side

Hi,
thanks for your assistance.
You're right, we have two HSCages, but they are connected to channel one and two, the external storage is connected to channel zero. I still don't know why it doesn't work. With WinNT it was allright with this configuration...

Re: Problems with LH4 (NetRaid 3si) / RS12 / Win2k

Hi,

Try the following: connect the RS12 not on channel 0 but on channel 1 or 2. See if that works. If that works then try connecting channel 0 to 1 of the internal hot swap cages.
