Procurve 251-24 switches

This is the scenario:
We have 5 Procurve 2510-24 switches. We want to use the 1000/Base-T ports to connect 5 HP DL360G6 servers together so they can talk to each other at the higher rate. The way the switches are set up now is the Gig T ports are being used to connect the switches together. I need some guidance here, please. Can we do what we want to do with these switches (have the servers talk to each other at the gig rate)? And if so whatтАЩs going to be the best way/practice to do this? I donтАЩt know anything about the тАЬdual-personality ports/mini-GBIC. In the documentation I read, looks like if you use the min-GBIC port it disables the 1000\Base-T port??

Any help would be appreciated or point me to some more reading please.
Thanks
D

Re: Procurve 251-24 switches

This is a little bit of information you give to us. But i would ask you to read the Advanced Traffic Guide for your switces(http://ftp.hp.com/pub/networking/software/2510-AdvTrafficMgmt-July2007-59914762.pdf)
The DPP means the you can either 10/100/1000 or !!! mini-GBIC connectivity.
If i would dream a little and all you 5 2510-24 and the 5 DL360G6 are at the same location. I would say the best performance is to connect with one of the 2 10/100/1000 port to each server and with the other connect the servers together. The best in my dream would be to get one 2510G-24 (G!) link the servers to this 2510G-24 and make to each of the 5 2510-24 a trunk with 2 cables to the 2510G-24.
