Proliant 5000

We Have a Proliant 5000 running NT4.0 as a Domain Controller / File and Print. I am in the process of trying to get us to Native Mode W2K3 and to do so, I am going to upgrade this Proliant 5000 to Windows 2000 and use the DCPromo process with W2K to demote the server to a Member server. I would like to know if anyone else on the WWW has upgraded a 5000 from Windows NT4.0 to W2K and if so, are there any lessons learned that may be passed along?

Re: Proliant 5000

I tried this same path and the best thing I can tell you is not to do it. Windows 2003 Server will not recognise more than one processor on this box and performance suffers drastically as a result. Windows 2000 is as high as is supported.
