Proliant DL380 G1 drive cage installation not working

Hello,
I installed the drive cage into a DL380 server and 2 72GB drives. The drives are showing a constant amber as if they have failed and they are not rebuilding in the array configuration utility. Can anyone please let me know if you've seen this and how I can fix it?
