Proliant DL380 G4 RAID-notify

Hi,

We have a Proliant DL380 G4-server running one RAID-1 set and one RAID-5 set. The cciss-driver is used and the operatingsystem is RedHat Enterprise AS 3.0 (update 4, with all errata up2date).

The problem is that I cant seem to find out where the RAID-driver reports when a disk goes DEAD. Normally it would report it somewhere in /var/log or in /proc/cciss-something, but nothing's there. I've also crawled the hp.com pages here to find anything, but the software I've installed seems to only be SNMP-related.

Anyone got a clue?

Thanks in advance,

Re: Proliant DL380 G4 RAID-notify

I would like to add that I've installed the hpasm-deamon which successfully reports for example "System Power Supplies not Reduntant" when I un-power one of the power-supplies to /var/log/messages.

However, still it reports nothing regarding DISK-activity on the RAID-controller.
