Re: Proliant DL580 G2

Newer versions of SmartStart may not support a G2.

Which array controller is the DL580 G2 using?

Are you providing the F6 MSD (mass storage driver) when installing from the Windows Server 2003 CD?

At which point is the installation stalling?

Re: Proliant DL580 G2

Hi,

this is the first time i have dealt with this type of server my MD decided he would buy one of E-Bay and throw it my general direction to sort out :)

do you have the details of the driver i would need to add during instal (F6)? and where to obtain it from? it uses the hp smartstart 5i RAID controller.

the installation of windows is stalling after it has installed drivers. it installs them (or so it seems) all then sits there for hours.

Many Thanks for your help so far.

Re: Proliant DL580 G2

Many Thanks i will try as you suggested.

also just to confirm the 5i driver comes in two parts

(Online ROM Flash Component for Windows - Smart Array 5i and SA-532 (multi-part download)

however the link appears to be broken on the second part, will this be required?

Re: Proliant DL580 G2

Sorry, I see the problem. The first link to the SA-5i driver was wrong.
